Background

The client is one of the most innovative banks of the Spanish market that had decided to launch an MVNO as a new distribution channel to introduce mobile financial services and strengthen client loyalty.

The project's objective was to define and launch the best collaborative scheme to develop a mobile financial service for the bank.

Valoris role

Valoris supported the client through:

Identification and analysis of all the potential schemes to develop the service (from host MNO/MVNE negotiation to MVNO operational model definition) and its potential implications (operational, financial, strategic, legal, marketing, etc.).
Support in the negotiation process with MNOs and MVNEs, including the analysis and assessment of potential partners.
Definition of the value proposition and marketing plan, including the execution and analysis of a market research to identify client needs and test potential value proposition and positioning.
Development of the operational launch plan and design of the Project Management Office (PMO).
Definition of the online strategy, including key features of the online channel and processes to acquire and self-manage the service by clients.
Review and optimization of the mobile banking services to stimulate the adoption of the service (lowering adoption barriers).

Results

Successful negotiation and signature of the agreement with MVNE partner.
Successful commercial launch of the first mobile banking service through an MVNO in Spain in Q1-2008.
